Bp George Bruce:
Some thoughts for Eastertide
The great message
of Easter for all of us is that the answer to the question ["Could
we start again please?"] is a
resounding “Yes!”

Ron
Dart: Two men for all seasons
Canada's great
literary wit, Stephen Leacock (1869-1944), and Canada's greatest
philosopher, George Grant (1918-
1988). Two Anglicans you should know.

Stephen Andrews:
The Gullibility factor
Surely informed Christians can tell
the difference between a theological thriller (such as The
DaVinci Code) and a theological treatise. The latter can be
attacked or defended; the former should simply be enjoyed.
Philip
Turner: Is our theology unworkable?
A reflection on the basic problem inherent in contemporary Anglican
thinking: the great divide between what we say we believe, and what
we really believe.
George Sumner: In praise of common sense: A
reflection on St. Michael's Report.
It made perfect
sense to hand the question of same-sex blessings over to theologians
-- we all knew in our hearts that it was doctrine all along.

When
the Spirit comes
Reviewed by CATHERINE
SIDER HAMILTON
Ecstasy and Intimacy: When the Holy
Spirit Meets the Human Spirit,
by Edith Humphrey, is (like its cover) a splash of colour, a book
about the things of God written with a passion both for the beauty
of the Godhead and for the beauty of the earth. It is a
sustained reflection on the way in which God, as Father, Son and
Holy Spirit, comes to meet us and draws us into his life, and the
way in which our lives can therefore become icons of the divine
glory, and the divine and suffering love.
